Another day in Yellowstone

We set off again on our planned route to visit the mud volcano. Yesterday before we drove into the park we had visited The Information Centre in West Yellowstone where we staying and talked to a very helpful Park ranger. Having told him how long we were staying he marked out some routes for us that would cover the main attractions in the park although we did seem to be taking longer than he had anticipated. Today I am travelling as usual in a haze of Chanel No 5 and Boots Insect Repellent as I was not pleased to wake up with mosquito bites. The repellent needs renewing about every four hours so think this mosquito must have attacked as we walked back to car after meal in Lodge last night.

Then just around the corner we wait again whilst the family group amble across the road. We had heard of the beauty of Yellowstone and the fascinating geo-thermal sites but the wildlife was proving an equally powerful attraction.
This was one point when I didn't have to shout "Stop the car"
Alistair took this fantastic shot through the car window.

Over the past few days we had seen several groups of bison and were in danger of becoming blase about seeing bison but this really was something else.....
