Paris in June
On our first day we went to an exhibition at the Musee d'Orsay. In the evening we went out for a meal with Alistair's cousin Lucinda who lives and works in Paris.
On the Saturday Kate and Malcolm took us out of Paris for a visit to Chantilly. We visited the famous Living Horse Museum where they have live examples of all the horse breeeds there are. We watched a demonstration of how dressage horses are trained. After lunch we walked round the grounds of the Chateau.

On our last day took the metro up to La Defense. We had used our ordinary metro tickets which turned our not to b

e valid for the distance and would not let us out of the station. So we nipped out smartly behind a lady whose ticket opened some gates to get her suitcase through! After walking round the plaza we went up the external lift to the top of the La Grande Arche that was built in 1989 and saw the fantastic view down to the Arc de Triomphe. I enjoyed using a powerful rooftop telescope that would have enabled me to identify somone standing by the A de T ....however I didn't see anyone I knew. There was an art exhibition and another exhibition showing the development of the computer in the area at the top plus a very comfortable cinema showing the construction of the L'Arche. We had our lunch here and admired the architecture of this business district where there are several of Paris' tallest buildings as well as a huge shoppping mall.
