Carnival time

Our friends Arnold and Elvira joined for the first week. At this time of the year Los Gigantes holds its Festival. It starts at the fish lady fountain so we sat on the edge of the fountain and watched the preparations and lining up. This was possibly more fun than watching the festival itself.

This young lady is wearing her dress for the carnival princess competition. It was a magnificent creation that swirled about with the aid of hoops and a wheeled undercarriage. This marching band full of macho men in lime green and pink had won several competitions.
