Gardening, sunshine and May blossom

Whilst Alistair was in Norway I made determined effort to catch up with tidying the garden as it was looking neglected. We have been out of the country rather a lot this spring and when we were free to garden it always seemd to rain (well that's my excuse anyway).

Wednesday afternoon is my regular day for spending time with Marisa. Here she is in her stroller which she prefers now to the pram as she likes to sit up and look around. We have had a lovely week of sun so a sunhat was essential headgear.
She loves being outside and here she is having fun in her garden.
Two years ago I was in New York at this time of year and went to the Japanese May Blossom Festival (Sakura Matsuri) in Brooklyn Botanic Gardens with my first grandaughter Isabella. Obviously Macclesfield can't compete but we do have a pretty May blossom avenue in the local park so I thought it would be a good idea to take Marisa there to celebrate her Japanese heritage. However we should have gone sooner as the blossom was nearly over!
