Wimbledon....rainy or not
Today Ann and I went to Wimbledon. On television we had been watching matches take place in glorious sunshine and as you can see in the first photo we left home in sunshine. Luckily we were at the station in good time as I had booked our train tickets for the following day!! I checked the date on the Wimbledon tickets and heaved a sigh of relief as Ann had taken the day off work for our trip. I hastily bought more train tickets and off we went. After this all went smoothly and we saw half an hour of play between Safin and Lopez before it began to rain.
Just after 4pm the covers came off and play resumed. We saw the end of the Safin/Lopez match and the beginning of Schuettler/Clement match. originally we were disappointed not to have tickets for Centre court to see the the quarter final matches involving Federer and Nadal. However our matches provided some excellent tennis as the players were more evenly matched and it was difficult to know who was going to win unlike the matches on Centre court. I was able to watch the end of the Schuettler match on tv the next day but Ann had to go to work.
