September and Siena

We flew to Italy and spent a few days in Chianciamo from where we visited Siena and Florence and some of the picturesque Tuscan hill towns. We visited Assisi on our way to stay Rome for the remainder of our holiday.

I really enjoyed Siena and the surrounding countryside. Brown sienna and burnt umber from my childhood paintbox took on a whole new meaning. There were some interesting artworks with a horse theme.
