Office or Study?
Marisa was on holiday for a week so I thought it would be a good idea to decorate that room we call the Office as I could put the contents in the room where she naps on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We use the fourth bedroom as an office with computer stuff, filing cabinets (his and hers) plus shelves of books, files, maps, storage boxes etc. To call it a fourth bedroom is really being over generous. However I underestimated by about a week how long it would take me to strip the old wallpaper off, put on new paper and then paint walls and woodwork. It was amazing how much stuff was in that little room as you can see from the pictures below.
Still the task has been completed and most items moved back into the study...sounds more upmarket than office don't you think? Not that much studying goes on but then it wasn't exactly an office either. We took the opportunity to go through the filing cabinets and other files and shred paper that was no longer relevant. The shredder was red hot some days and when Alistair took the bags of old wallpaper to the dump he also took three large bags of shredded paper as the wheelie was too full to take any more.

One unexpected result of this decorating was to find the two toy animals that had been missing for three weeks. I was getting a paintbrush out that I had put to dry over the boiler when my fingers felt something else under there...it is a very narrow gap under the worktop.....and pulled out the elephant and the giraffe! Marisa must have reached up to push them in and then forgotten about them. Now the train has its full complement again.
