Happy New Year 2010

Fortunately, although it was bitterly cold, the snow was to hold off for another two days so we were able to drive to Blackpool to meet up with our friends to welcome in the New Year in Blackpool Tower Ballroom.  Alistair drove there as I had volunteered to drive home and a very icy drive home at the end of the celebrations it turned out to be.  I like the car cool so Alistair wrapped himself in the sleeping bag we had taken along in case of emergencies.  I felt very cosy as under my cashmere coat I had a fleece and underneath that a cardigan!

We have danced in the Tower ballroom several times before but the atmosphere on New Year's Eve was quite amazing. 

There was a live big band and an organist on the Wurlitzer during their breaks so the floor was always full of dancers of all ages.
