Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle

The last time Alistair and I visited Lindisfarne we were so enchanted with the place we found somewhere to stay and spent several days enjoying the gentle peace of the place.  This time we were day visitors and it hadn't quite the same feel as when we were left surrounded by sea. 

My last visit to Bamburgh Castle had been with a school party so this time I could take my time looking round the interior instead of helping children fill in their worksheets.  The view of the Northumberland coast from the castle was magnificent miles and miles of empty beaches.
