Wimbledon sun 2010
This year my friend Ann and I set off for Wimbledon safe in the knowledge that the sun was going to shine. I have been lucky enough to get tickets one way or another for Wimbledon every year since 1996 ( I retired in 1995 and so 1996 was the first year of Wimbledon and The Chelsea Flower Show and all sorts of trips I couldn't make when I was working!). On one occasion we sat in the stands whilst the rain poured down the whole day and another year I wore a ski jacket it was so cold up in the draughty back rows of the Centre court. I keep saying this is my last visit but then along comes a chance of tickets and off we go. For the first time we had tickets for Number 2 court which does not have any roof so the weather was important. We had a great time as we were nearer the front than we had ever been before, the sun shone all day and transport ran smoothly with first class train travel on the way down and an open top bus back to Southfields!!
