International Visitors - August
August saw Kate and children making a planned summer holiday visit to Macclesfield. Kate naturally spent quite a lot time shopping.....in the pictures below you can just see her unpacking after a shopping trip and then Bella trying on more than one outfit at once.
Kate's visit co-incided with the arrival of Liz, Kjetil and Ella from Norway who came over to attend the funeral of Alistair's sister. They stayed with Nick and family in Rainow where the two little girls got on very well. They have since chatted on Skype. Actually chatted is not quite the right word as the exchange consisted of showing off their toys and then running away to hide, then coming back and shouting loudly till the other appeared. Ella took back to Norway Marisa's bedtime phrase "I'm not tired" and Marisa learnt to say "No" in yet another language.
Here we have Ella having fun in the play tent.
The two visits meant Alistair and I would have all four grandchildren in the same place at the same time albeit somewhat briefly. Chance for a group photo I schemed.......alas I have now learnt how difficult it is to get four young children looking happy (never mind at the camera!) in one shot.
We celebrated Bella's fifth birthday (one of several celebrations I might add) with a family lunch at The Windmill pub/restaurant.
After the meal there was just time to see if we could lose the children in the pub maze before the Swiss contingent left for the airport and life in their new house.
