Christmas 2010
Christmas 2010 was a quiet affair after Nicholas and family left for Japan .
We had a family Christmas lunch out after our trip to see Winnie the Witch at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester . Michie found this production after the success of our trip to see “Room on the Broom”. Marisa is fast becoming an expert on the various storybook witches and possesses her own hat, broomstick, wand and cauldron. At our Christmas lunch she made great use of the breadsticks as magic wands.
As she would be in Japan for Christmas she opened her presents from us and Uncle Philip before she went. There were Christmas presents in Japan and then four days later birthday presents to be followed by more birthday presents when she got back.
At her nursery they talk about the passing of time as “dreams” (in my day it was sleeps). Nicholas says that she now expects presents after every four dreams! When we put away the Christmas decorations she was most upset when I said Santa Claus would not be coming for a long time. Still there is her birthday party to come. She has been to a lot of birthday parties recently where she has taken a present to hand over……she tells me very earnestly that when it is her birthday party people will give her presents.
