Visit to Villa Bouchattet

We flew out to Geneva for a long weekend.  We had seen the pictures of the finished house and garden on Kate's blog and I was especailly looking forward to sitting on the deck in the elegant furniture under a big umbrella with a drink in my hand.  Unfortunately the weather changed as we arrived and there were not many opportunities to do this.

Whilst the children were at school/nursery we walked round the area and down to the lake.  Here we have Alistair sporting a Noddy rucksack we borrowed!  As we left the house  this sight caused the au pair considerable amusement.

On the Saturday evening Malcolm and Kate took us out for mealThe original intention was to go to a Hestor Blumenthal type restaurant but much to Alistair's relief the restaurant cancelled.

Here is picture of Kate and I enjoying the meal at their local Italian instead.
On our walk down to the lake we spotted a poster about a Jazz festival and looking it up on the computer showed that there were going to be marching bands on the Sunday in Coppet.  Alistair does not like to miss a marching band.

We persuaded Kate that watching the bands would be fun and we arrived in time to see the bands assembling in the grounds of the chateau.

Red is my favourite band

Then it was down to the main street to watch the procession.

Look...they're coming
Spot Alistair in red cagoule on other side.
