Music Boxes - Manchester International Festival
Six weeks ago I applied for a ticket for Marisa to take part in the Music Boxes project for young children at the Manchester International Festival. Today is the day and off we go by train and tram to MediaCity which the new location for the BBC at Salford quays. We have had some lovely weather but today it is very overcast.
The Music Boxes are a collection of shipping containers in a circle.
Each container holds a different musical experience.

Marisa follows the arrows to find the entrance. You can see The Lowry in the distance.
Exploring sound using everyday objects and then meeting Justin from Mister Maker on Cbeebies. There were lots of experiences and she had a great time. The nice thing was all this was free. I even got a chance to conduct the virtual BBC Symphony Orchestra as there was no one else in the container at the time.

We visited the BBC building where Marisa posed with Dalek models and sat in Mr Bloom's wheelbarrow.
Going home she had great fun riding up the escalator to the first floor of Piccadilly station. Then she went down the stairs so that she could use the escalator again.
