Norway July 2011
We went to visit Liz, Kjetil and Ella in their new home although we stayed in a hotel in Stavanger as the house is not ready for guests. As they live out in the country so we took a train to their nearest station and Liz collected us by car.
Alistair standing on the waterfront with view of the tower next to our hotel. Notice that it is not raining and there is some sunshine. On other days we had every type of rain Norway could produce. However we weren't on a sightseeing holiday as Alistair had come prepared to work on the house and spend time with Ella.
View of tower from hotel window. One day when the plumbing work had been completed Liz took us to feed the ducks and walk along a local sculpture trail. There are lots of artistic projects in the area.
Ella spots two superb black swans with cygnets coming towards us.
We then continue along the sculpture trail.
If you look closely you can see the reflection of Alistair and Liz in the window glass just above Ella's head.
Our hotel was in the pedestrianianised area of Stavanger so we had to walk with our cases to the station. Here I am next to one of Antony Gormley's Broken Column statues. They start at a high point in the town and the final and 23rd statue is actually below sea level but I'll pass on that photo thanks.
It can be difficult to park..................
Time to go but not on this train...................
