Happy Birthday Brian - Chester Zoo

Kate, Malcolm and children were coming over to celebrate Malcolm's father's 70th birthday.  Brian (Malcolm's dad) generously invited Alistair and I to join in the celebrations.  A coach had been hired for a trip to Chester Zoo.  I was looking forward to the this as the last time I visited Chester Zoo Kate was three.  Here we are just arriving with Kate wearing a waterproof jacket and hat she had borrowed from me although the weather turned out to be much better than had been forecast.
The recent television news had full of the birth of four cheetah cubs at Chester Zoo so I made my way there first. There were an awful lot of photgraphers with super zoom cameras but I was very pleased to get a shot of the cubs playing in the sunshine with their mother.

Alistair has decided to start taking photos himself so I may get to appear more often.

Megan had packed everyone a lovely lunch so we met up to eat together.
I rode on the overhead railway but think perhaps the boat trip might have been a better choice although nothing beats walking round to view the animals.

On our way into the zoo each group arriving was lined up by zoo staff for a group photo against a green board. At the time I did think that the background was a bit boring.  However on the way out all was revealed as we were able to buy a package of  pictures with our group photo inserted on to a variety of backgrounds.  Luckily there were enough for us all to have a photo to remind us of the occasion.  Naturally I chose the one with the tigers!
