Visit to the mountain ski family - part one

After New Year Nick and family came home from Switzerland amd we flew our for our first visit to the Siviez mountain apartment in winter.  Kate and Malcolm kindly lent us the appropriate gear which was most appreciated.  As we approached the road leading up from Sion the weather turned into severe blizzard conditions and the temperature dropped rapidly.  Alistair was very impressed with Kate's driving.  Here we have the view the next morning from the balcony....the two dots near the trees are Malcolm showing Alistair how to use snowshoes.

I had been looking forward to seeing Bella and Sebastian demonstrate their skiing skills.  As they had been having lesssons all week they both had gained medals.  There is a ski school mouse that appears for the group photos but Sebby makes sure to keep as far away from it as possible.
...............and finally a picture of the whole family.  This is the only ski photo I have where Sebby does not have his goggles down.

Eating out was fun.  At a local restaurant Bella and Sebby thought it was hilarious when Nanna and Grandpa were fitted with bibs.  Evidently the dish we had chosen involved cooking your own steak at the table on a very hot stone and the bibs were to protect from splashes.
and here we have a very happy eater..................
